Five tools. Two bills. One business.

Many creators stitch together a course platform and a paid newsletter, then glue them with automations and a spreadsheet. Both bill you, both take a cut, and every sync is one more thing to break.

A flat price beats a cut of your sales.

A percentage looks small at the start, and it grows with every sale. A flat price stays where it is.

WordPress and plugins

A site, then a plugin for every job.

WordPress can sell courses and memberships once you add the plugins, a host and a video host. Each one has its own bill, its own updates and its own settings.

Beyond the price

Why creators leave older platforms.

Three things a price table does not show: what you pay to get paid, how the platform was built, and who answers when you write.

  • Fees that depend on how you get paid

Kajabi adds up to 2% of every sale, and Thinkific up to 5%, when payments go through another processor instead of their own, on top of card fees. Sherpo takes 0% on every plan: on Stripe, and on sales paid elsewhere that you record in Sherpo.

  • Platforms from the 2010s

Kajabi and Udemy launched in 2010, Gumroad in 2011, Thinkific in 2012, Patreon and Ghost in 2013, and Podia in 2014: years before AI assistants could run a store. Sherpo was designed for AI assistants from the start, with an MCP server on every plan.

  • Support from the Sherpo team

Write to support@sherpo.io and the Sherpo team answers, with standard support on Lite and developer support on Pro.

Video hosting

Stop paying for bandwidth.

A popular course can cost more to serve, whether you pay a video host for bandwidth or reach the cap inside your course platform. On Sherpo, video is delivered without bandwidth fees, however many people watch.

Where your video lives, what it costs and the limit on it
Where your video livesPriceLimit on video
SherpoIncluded in every planNo cap on delivery
Thinkific BasicIncluded in the $54 plan100 GB of bandwidth a month
Thinkific GrowIncluded in the $219 plan400 GB of bandwidth a month
Podia MoverIncluded in the $49 plan500 videos

Course platforms that bundle video often limit it too. Thinkific caps video bandwidth on Basic, Start and Grow, and Podia limits how many videos you can upload. On Sherpo, plans are sized by storage, and delivery is never metered.

Should I build it myself instead?

You can, but you need a database, a payment provider and video hosting, joined by your own code. Sherpo in your own codebase, included in Pro at $49 a month, gives you that backend, so you only build the front-end.
