What is MCP?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use tools from another product. Sherpo has 2 MCPs on every plan. The Merchant MCP lets an assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT or the Gemini CLI work inside your account: creating products, setting prices, adding coupons and pulling reports when you ask.

What is MCP?
MCP is the Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets AI assistants use tools and data from other services. Sherpo’s Merchant MCP lets your AI work inside your Sherpo account.

Can my agent build my website?
Yes, on Pro. A coding agent can build a self-hosted front-end in your own codebase and connect it to Sherpo. On your hosted site, you build it from blocks in Sherpo’s page builder: your homepage on Lite, plus up to 30 custom pages on Pro.
How do I check what my agent changed?
Everything your agent changes shows up in your Sherpo dashboard, where you can review it and change it by hand.
Can I test before going live?
Yes. You can keep your site offline while your agent sets up products, prices and coupons, and switch it on when you are ready.
Can my agent report on my sales?
Yes. You can ask for sales and orders, subscribers by tier, or the return on a live portfolio, and get the answer in plain language.
Do my customers need an AI tool?
No. The agent is your own tool for managing the store, and your customers buy and learn as usual. Their own assistants can connect to your store through the Customer MCP too, and read every product they bought through MCP.
Merchant MCP or Customer MCP?
The Merchant MCP is for you: your AI manages your store. The Customer MCP is for your customers: their AI browses your catalog, buys, unlocks and reads what they paid for.
Can I do the same from code?
Yes. The Merchant API covers what the Merchant MCP does, and it is on every plan. To power your own storefront, Sherpo in your own codebase comes with Pro.
