How does Sherpo use Stripe?
Checkout on Sherpo runs on Stripe. Your products, subscriptions, tiers and coupons are connected to it, so you do not build a checkout yourself.
Which payment methods can my customers use?
Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and buy-now-pay-later.
Does Sherpo add a fee on top of Stripe?
No. Sherpo takes 0% of your sales on every plan. You pay a flat price, plus your payment provider’s standard processing fees.
Can I sell subscriptions?
Yes. You can charge daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, and subscriptions renew on their own. When one ends, access ends with it.
Who handles sales tax and VAT?
You do. You sell as your own business, so collecting and filing sales tax or VAT is up to you.
Is Sherpo a merchant of record?
No. Sales go through your own Stripe account, in your name. Sherpo does not provide a merchant of record, a provider that sells in its own name and handles sales tax. On every plan, you can sell through one and record each sale through the Merchant API.
Do I need a Stripe account?
Yes. Payouts go to a Stripe account of your own. You set it up under Payouts in your business settings by picking the country your business is based in. Until then, you can publish and give away free content.
Can I record sales made outside Stripe?
Yes. You can record an order by hand when someone pays in cash, by bank transfer or through another processor, so all your revenue is in one place.
Can I use a different payment provider?
Yes. On your site, checkout runs on Stripe. On every plan, you can take payment elsewhere and record each sale through the Merchant API.
Which plan includes checkout?
Every plan. Lite, at $19 a month, includes checkout with buy-now-pay-later.
Do I need to write code?
No, not on your hosted site. Checkout is already part of it. On a self-hosted front-end in your own codebase, your code opens Sherpo checkout.
How do I try it?
