Add Sherpo to the Gemini CLI in three steps.

    Copy your Merchant MCP URL

    Open your Sherpo dashboard and copy the Merchant MCP URL for your store.

  2. 02

    Add it to the settings file

    Open the Gemini CLI settings file, ~/.gemini/settings.json, and add Sherpo under “mcpServers”. If the file already has an “mcpServers” block, add the sherpo entry inside it.

    Replace YOUR_MCP_URL with the Merchant MCP URL from your Sherpo dashboard.

    Sign in

    Restart the Gemini CLI and run /mcp auth sherpo, then approve access in your browser. Then ask for what you want.

Set up a product

Create a course called [name], priced at [price]. When it is ready, show me the checkout link.

Add a membership tier

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets an AI assistant use tools in another product. Sherpo’s Merchant MCP lets an assistant work inside your account.

What can Gemini do in my Sherpo account?

Create products, set prices and tiers, add coupons, and pull reports on your sales and subscribers.

Is the MCP server included in my plan?

Yes, on every Sherpo plan.

Does it work with other assistants?

Yes. The same Merchant MCP works with Claude and ChatGPT, with coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex, and with any other tool that supports MCP.

How do I check what Gemini changed?

Everything it changes shows up in your dashboard, where you can review it and change it by hand.

Can I test before going live?

Yes. You can keep your site offline while you or your assistant set everything up, and switch it on when you are ready.

Do I need to know how to code?

No, but the Gemini CLI runs in a terminal. Setup is one edit to a settings file; after that you ask in plain language.

Can Gemini record a trade in my live portfolio?

Yes. Tell Gemini about the buy or sell, and it records the trade in your Sherpo portfolio, where it goes live right away. Sherpo publishes the trade but does not execute it.

How is this different from the Customer MCP?

This is your own assistant running your store, through the Merchant MCP. Your customers can connect their own assistant to your store through the Customer MCP, to browse, buy and read what they unlocked. Every product you sell opens this way, and MCP access follows what each customer bought.
