Build your site with Codex. Let Sherpo run what is behind it.

Add the Sherpo MCP server to Codex. While it writes your front-end, it can create your products, prices and coupons in Sherpo, which handles payments, access, video, subscriptions and affiliates behind your pages.

  • MCP server on every plan
  • Your own codebase, on Pro
  • Any stack, hand-built or vibecoded
  • Offline until you launch

In short

Sherpo connects to Codex through MCP, the Model Context Protocol. While Codex builds your front-end, it can set up products, prices and coupons in your Sherpo account. On Pro, Sherpo then runs payments, access, video, subscriptions and affiliates behind your pages, in your own codebase.

What it does

Codex and Sherpo, together.

  • Your store, set up as you build

Products, prices, tiers and coupons are created through MCP while the site is being written.

  • Nothing to rebuild

Payments, access, video, subscriptions and affiliates run on Sherpo, so your agent does not have to write them.

  • Yours to review

Everything the agent creates shows up in your dashboard, where you can change it.

Setup

Add Sherpo to Codex in three steps.

  1. 01

    Copy your Merchant MCP URL

Open your Sherpo dashboard and copy the Merchant MCP URL for your store.

  2. 02

    Add it to the config

Open ~/.codex/config.toml and add an entry for Sherpo.

    ~/.codex/config.toml
    [mcp_servers.sherpo]
    url = "YOUR_MCP_URL"

Replace YOUR_MCP_URL with the Merchant MCP URL from your Sherpo dashboard.

  3. 03

Start Codex and approve access in your browser. If the sign-in does not open, run codex mcp login sherpo in your terminal. Then ask it to build.

Copy a prompt

Six things to ask Codex first.

Paste one into Codex inside your project, fill in the brackets, and let it build. The checkout, gating and subscription prompts need Sherpo in your own codebase, on Pro. The catalog, webhook and coupon prompts work on every plan.

Set up the catalog

Create these products in Sherpo: [names and prices]. Then list them back to me.

Wire the checkout

Add a Buy button to my pricing page that opens the Sherpo checkout for [product].

Gate a page

Protect /lessons so only customers who bought [product] can open it. Ask Sherpo who has access.

Handle webhooks

Add a webhook handler for new purchases and canceled subscriptions, and log each event.

Add a subscription

Create a Plus tier at [price] a month in Sherpo, and add a Subscribe button for it to my site.

Launch a coupon

Create a 20% launch coupon that is valid for 7 days, and add its link to my landing page.

What does connecting Codex to Sherpo do?

It lets Codex work inside your Sherpo account through MCP: creating products, prices, tiers and coupons while it builds the site that sells them.

Do I need Pro for this?

To run Sherpo behind your own front-end, yes. Using Sherpo in your own codebase is included in Pro, at $49 a month. The MCP server itself is included on every plan.

Which stacks does it work with?

Any front-end, on any stack, hand-built or vibecoded.

What does Sherpo handle behind my site?

Payments, access, video, subscriptions and affiliates, through Sherpo in your own codebase, webhooks and the Merchant MCP.

Can I keep my own payments and login?

Yes. On every plan, sales paid elsewhere can be recorded through the Merchant API. In your own codebase, on Pro, you can keep the authentication provider you already use.

How do I check what Codex changed?

Everything it creates shows up in your dashboard, where you can review it and change it by hand.

Can I build before going live?

Yes. You can keep your site offline while you or your agent set everything up, and switch it on when you are ready.

Does it work with other coding agents?

Yes. The same Merchant MCP works with Claude Code and with any other coding agent that supports MCP.

Is the MCP server included in my plan?

Yes, on every Sherpo plan.

How do I try it?

Lite and Pro start with a 14-day free trial. Connect Sherpo to Codex and ask it to create your first product.
